56 Feel Good Things

After seeing on the news that someone had created their list of 1000 ‘awesome’ things on a newscast and has turned that into a book, I thought I would share some things that I believe to be ‘feel good’ experiences. I failed in trying to write 1000 different experiences, but I thought this would do…for now!

1. The moment you finally get to pee after holding it for so long
2. You’re waiting in line behind 30 other people to pay for your things (you’re probably in Wal-Mart) and someone just opened a new cashier’s line. Now you’re first!
3. Finally being able to collapse on your bed after an exhausting and stressful day
4. The feeling you get after taking a really big dump. (What a sense of relief)
5. The last day of school
6. Crossing the last item off on your bucket list
7. Finding money that you didn’t even know you lost (especially after putting that winter jacket on when the season comes and finding a load of cash in one of the pockets)
8. Wearing clothes straight out of the dryer in the winter time
9. Hearing a stranger fart in public (and you think “I’m glad it wasn’t me”)
10. Eating food you loved as a kid as an adult
11. The smell of fresh baked goods
12. The feeling you get right after you vomit when you’re hung over
13. When the only other person in the elevator is stopping at the same floor as you, or better yet stopping on a floor after you get off
14. Paying for something with exact change
15. Getting into a line right before it starts to get extremely long
16. Finding out that your birthday is going to be on a Friday or Saturday
17. A vending machine giving two things instead of one
18. Popping bubble wrap (you know you enjoy it too!)
19. Having your ears pop back to normal after a long flight
20. Really good candy when your bill comes at the restaurant
21. Winning the March Madness Office Pool
22. Watching something download really fast
23. Getting a nasty splinter out of your finger
24. The blood rushing back to your foot or arm after it has been asleep
25. The pain after a really good workout at the gym
26. Getting the last copy of what you wanted to watch at the video store
27. Spilling something on your shirt that doesn’t leave a stain
28. Getting gas before the price goes up
29. Dangling your feet into the pool
30. When something you’ve had your eye on goes on sale
31. When you sneeze and a random stranger says “bless you”
32. Waking up to the smell of bacon being cooked
33. When the wooden chopsticks from the Chinese take-out spot come apart perfectly
34. Staying past your bedtime when you were a little kid
35. Reading a really good book
36. Setting the new high score and getting achievements in a video game
37. Opening your book up to the exact page you were looking for
38. Hearing a song that reminds you of someone you love
39. Fitting into that pair of jeans you haven’t been able to wear for a while
40. Catching your favourite baseball player’s home run or foul ball
41. Wearing your boyfriends sweater
42. When the child is the one reading you the bedtime story
43. Finally getting that much needed ‘me time’ so you can relax
44. Getting stoned and then opening the freezer and seeing mini pizzas
45. Having a shower in the morning and leaning against the side of the shower
46. The first bite into greasy food after you’ve been drinking all night
47. Finding the last parking spot in the lot right in front of the doors
48. Finding a monthly bus pass on the street with two weeks left in the month
49. When you slip and recover before you fall
50. When you’re trying to think of a song or lyrics to a song and it comes on the radio
51. When you drop something and manage to catch it before it touches the ground
52. Hitting your first home run
53. When you get to the bank just before they lock the doors
54. When you get to the bank and see a long line, but the teller calls you right over to their wicket to serve you first
55. Winning the lottery
56. Stopping parking enforcement before he/she starts to ticket your car
